Here are the steps on how to change the private server settings in V Rising –

  1. First and foremost, you have to navigate to the V Rising install location in your drive. Likewise, you have to go to the drive where you install the Steam application. You can find this folder by launching Steam. Then, you have to right-click the game in your Steam library. Now, you have to click Properties and then Browse local files.
  2. Next up, the installation folder path for the game is typical – \Steam\steamapps\common\VRising. Then, you have to go to VRising_Server in the install folder. Once in the folder, you have to locate and open VrisingServer_Data. After doing so, you have to go to the StreamingAssets folder and finally open the Settings folder.
  3. In the Settings folder, you have to open the ServerGameSettings.json file. Then, you have to open it with both Notepad as well as Visual Studio. Likewise, you have to leave it open.
  4. Then, you have to go to your Windows search, type in %appdata%, and hit enter. Click on AppData in the search result and go to the AppData folder. Now, you have to go to the following folder path in AppData – LocalLow\Stunlock Studios\VRising\Saves\v1
  5. You can now launch the game and simply exit the Main Menu. This causes a save and updates the time to your current date and time, which allows you to easily identify the folder you want.
  6. Now, you have to open the folder and scroll all the way down. You have to open ServerGameSettings.json and go ahead and bring up the previous Settings.json file from step 3.
  7. In the first ServerGameSettings.json file from step 3, you have to locate the setting you want to add.
  8. Finally, you have to simply make the changes that you want in the settings and paste them into the ServerGameSettings.json file. After making the changes, you can hit save.
