Apex Legends Mobile: How to change server

Apex Legends Mobile has its first season well underway after its much-anticipated release earlier this year on Android and iOS. It saw a limited soft launch with certain regions being allowed access to the game on official platforms while the other regions were not allowed until later in the launch cycle. The game had a particularly long beta testing period with thousands of players downloading the beta version of the game to log in and play. It is a port of the PC and Console versions of the game with the same characters and the same maps and weapons. It also provides the ability to players to connect a controller and enjoy the game through a controller on their mobile devices. This is unique to Apex Mobile and fans appreciate this feature.  In this article, we will be taking a look at Apex Legends Mobile: How to change server.

Apex Legends Mobile: How to change server

The PC and Console versions of the game allow players to change their servers to a more suitable or proximate server in order to reduce Ping or other matchmaking issues. This is a valuable addition as it also allows players that are travelling to play where they want to play based on their location at the time. Apex Legends Mobile, being a port of the PC version was expected to have this feature at launch and allow players the privilege of switching servers.

Apex Legends Mobile: How to change server?

Unfortunately, despite the game being a port of the PC and Console versions of the original title, it lost out on a few features to make it compatible to be played on Android and iOS. One of those features was the ability to switch servers. If players want to switch servers to avoid matchmaking issues or connectivity issues, they cannot do so in the mobile version of the game since they are locked into the server which is available closest to their location. If they wish to use another server, they will need to connect to a VPN and access it since servers are region locked in Apex Mobile.

If a player has to use a VPN to connect to a different server then it defeats the purpose of a server switch entirely as there will be a significantly higher ping. If the player still wishes to use a VPN and connect to a different server, they should connect to a region closest to them with a different server as that will ensure that the ping is as low as possible and the gameplay is as smooth and lag-free as possible.
