Verizon, the company that offers mobile and landline communications services, including broadband internet and phone service is currently having an outage at many locations. Many users are currently having no service message with no signal to 1 bar on their phones.
The issue is widespread & has affected many users. They have taken the route of forums & microblogging sites to express the ongoing issues and concerns. Have a look at a few complaints down below.

@Ocicatspotticat so, internet outage in my area most of the day- I really knew nothing about it until I went to get online this afternoon and couldn’t- thought maybe it was the modem until I called Verizon- maybe it will be back on tomorrow?! paws crossed.
